Froogle and Ebay are different animals Froogle is little more than a product search and comparison facility you cant buy direct from it only from the merchant site Ebay has bulk listing tools so it is not as slow as it appears and you buy effectively from the Ebay page avoiding the referral to another site
What I feel uncomfortable about is that Google seem to be trying to define their vision of the web and expecting the web to fall inline I recall a fellow called Gates trying this and taking a fall...
